I feel like roses have been getting a bad rap lately (I blame Valentine’s Day and cellophane covered in teddy bears and hearts). But when you visit Chart Farm it’s easy to see why they are one of the world’s most popular flowers. Situated near Wynberg Park, Chart Farm is the only place in the Cape Peninsula where you can select and pick your own roses. And with 18 hectres of land, you’re truly spoilt for choice. We went to take advantage of the Sunday R2/stem Special. After filling your buckets (provided along with secateurs at the front desk) feel free to visit The Terrace, the farm’s coffee shop, and enjoyed tea & a freshly baked scone (don’t mind if i do!). Word of warning: take your own gloves – the prettiest roses are the prickliest!
Roses for everyone!
