Italian It-Girl Eleonora Carisi is what my friend Donnet would describe as a multi-being. Not just a pretty face, in between fashion weeks Eleonora owns a shop in Turin called You You, is co-designer of fashion label What’s Inside You, runs her own blog, JouJouVilleroy, reports for Grazia.it as one of their It Girls and has photographed some of the most famous fashion faces for Italian streetstyle blog, Naple Streetstyle. On top of all this, she managed to find the time to answer a few questions I sent her…
Tell us a little bit about Jou Jou Villeroy.
How would you describe your personal style?
You’re also very talented behind the lense. Who are your favourite streetstyle photgraphers? Thank you, I appreciate so much your compliments. I started with analog photography when I was 16, trying to have a space in this world. My fav street photographers, that I had the honour to meet are of course Scott Schuman, The Sartorialist, he is very chic and you can feel the research of details. He makes me so confident. Then Mr.Newton, he is so funny and he loves like me the weird and not so classic outfit. But my street photography is going to follow more Nam from Streetsfn and Tommy Tom… the pallettes of colours… whoah!
Do you think being Italian has influenced your style? And if so, how? The Italy of others times, the Italy of Roman movies with Vittorio De Sica and Marcello Mastroianni, the Italy of fluttered skirts on white wash and natural colours.
Favourite trends for 2012? Pastels, collar and fruity look as we can see in SS 12 Dolce&Gabbana’s collection… I am Italian you know!
Do you have any fashion icons? (past or present). Alexa Chung for the present, she is so English, I love how she wears slippers shoes with party dresses and her eyes catch me… she is special and I did some photos of her during Paris Fahion Week. About the past, Rita Hayworth in Gilda movies… I love how she brings the hair and how she is woefully chic, tipical for the woman of those days.
And here’s the question on everyone’s mind. Did you really wear this to lunch? What was the reaction like? Ahahah! People asked me, but do you really think I’m so corageous? Thank you, but it will remain a question mark.
