This will be my final post for It’s What I’m Into for the month and the year, I’ve compiled some of my favourite work that I’ve photographed for this incredible hub of creative activity. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every project that I’ve worked on for It’s What I’m Into. I’m looking forward to collaborating with the team in other avenues and new ventures, so keep visiting It’s What I’m into for more information on exciting future projects. They say change is as good as a holiday and you can be sure that this blog has some big ‘holidays’ [READ: Change] coming it’s way that you will without a doubt enjoy. I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but nothing beats a great book that ALSO happens to be good looking. These covers caught my eye before I turned the first page and luckily, most of them have turned out to be beautiful both inside and outside.

Anna and Marc in matching Prada. Last night, Anna Wintour and Marc Jacobs both showed up to The Great Gatsby premiere in this Prada Coat. Who wore it best? My vote’s with Marc. (side note: I cannot wait to see the costumes Miuccia has designed for the film!) Skattie Goes to Hyères Local blogger, Skattie What Are You Wearing has taken his annoual trip to the Hyères Fashion Festival. I am equal parts jealous and relieved – imagine the outfit anxiety that comes with being surrounded by this bunch! Yaz Bukey is my new hero. Jewellery designer Yaz Bukey takes accessorizing to a new level! Her playful pieces are witty and sardonic in the best way. Seriously check out her insane collections here. My Goal Hair. via obsessee. Kent Andreasen x Anmarah Local photographer Kent Andreasen took these shots of Boss model Anmarah. Love the styling. Love the girl. Love the minimalism. SO FRESH!

Khotso Mokoena aint afraid of no Croc

Today was by far the scariest shoot I have ever done. Surounded by 85 crocodiles at the back of Tongaat’s Crocodile Creek, I shot images of Khotso Mokoena as he fulfilled a lifelong goal of jumping over a few of these Nile beasts. Why? Because his surname ‘Mokoena’ literally translates to he/she who swears by a crocodile,” in Sesotho and the animal is the collective identity for the clan. Now that’s paying homage to your heritage! Khotso had no problem clearing the five metre gap, seeing as his personal best is 8.5m, and did the jump a few times for me. I really wish I could have got down lower but without knowing how the crocs would react and with them facing me and others down the bank resting behind me I was too cautious to be reckless. On his next attempt Khotso jumped so high (as the crocs snapped at him) that he broke the framing we had set with his left arm. Damn adrenalin!

The best shot of the day as Murphy would have it was ruined when my radio transmitter failed to fire the main flash. Composition was spot on, timing was spot on, crocs were thrashing and there was no light. Aaaarrrrggh! So this image below is my new “The one that got away”

This is a sneak peak of some of the images I photographed for Kaffein Online Magazine in the recent past. The sixth issue of the Magazine will be released soon, the title thereof will be AMBITION. This magazine is by young South African’s for South African’s and explores youth culture and their concerns, in the meantime download issue five of Kaffein Online Magazine which featured photographer Max Mogale. Houses of Oranjezicht.

Last year I moved out of home for the first time. I was lucky enough to land in the beautiful suburb of Oranjezicht – which is the perfect combination of the leafy suburb life i was used to and the cool towny life i was looking for. One of my favourite parts of living in Oranjezicht is the beautiful homes that can be found on every block. I took a stroll around the neighbourhood and captured my favourite facades, gates and gables.

When seeing Wayne at work it becomes instantly clear that one is in the presence of a possessed genius with the distinct chance of implosion if he were unable to create. Possessing a supernatural ability to see 360 degrees simultaneously, Wayne’s skill at creating new worlds while honoring classic painting techniques takes the viewer on a fantastic ride.
