The Majorelle Garden is a twelve-acre botanical garden in Marrakech, Morocco. It was designed by the French artist Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s and 1930s, during the colonial period when Morocco was a protectorate of France. The garden was owned by Yves Saint-Laurent since 1980 and it is where his ashes were scattered after his death in 2008. The garden also houses the Islamic Art Museum of Marrakech, whose collection includes North African textiles from Saint-Laurent’s personal collection as well as ceramics, jewelry, and paintings by Jacques Majorelle.
