Christopher Marley's graceful arrangements of jewel like arthropods and delicate butterflies transform the world of insects into stunning works of art. His keen eye for design combines with his entomological passion to produce mesmerizing kaleidoscopic bug mandalas and striking up-close-and-personal single insect portraits. I attended SAFW this past weekend and captured some of what happened off the runway, I have to say, some were dressed well, others not so much. Alas the quandary of fashion is this: "Wear fashion, don't let fashion wear you" as I always say. View Article
This past weekend was the Colour Festival Durban, held at the Gateway Wavehouse. Hundreds of people gathered to listen to DJ's and hurl packets of powdered paint at each other. The event is Inspired by the Hindu Holi festival of colour held in Feb/March each year in India and other countries with large Indic diaspora populations. It looked like serious fun and made for some great pictures (photos by Luca Barausse photography)
